I will stamp all over 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be shown live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the pair met personally to publicize the upcoming bout.

Ex two-time world boxing king Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Fighter's Attitude

"I plan to injure his face and break his body up. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will genuinely try to injure him. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

In spite of these statements, a calm Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally recognized for his showmanship - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

However, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's largest financial successes, consistently making massive paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would stop the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Size Disparity

As the two fighters met for the customary face-off, with their height and weight contrast evident, it emphasized just how unlikely this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the fight is truly happening.
