AC Shadows Unveils Unexpected AoT Event for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre partnership that breaks conventional predictions, Ubisoft has unveiled an digital crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.
Strange Mission Revealed
According to the official announcement, "A mysterious confrontation draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original quest, where hints of forbidden ceremonies and terrifying changes resonate through the obscurity." The narrative features a "strangely dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a clandestine group.
The mission focuses on "strange experiments and a terrifying adversary" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Familiar Settings and Changes
The teaser highlights the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview finishes with a striking sequence showing a character, probably the captive, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Prizes and Bonus Content
Players who finish the adventure will obtain an unique katana in addition to several items secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-themed attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Unique weapons
- Survey Corps mount
Third Free Story Update
This release also brings the game's third free story episode, titled "The Mystery." This humorous mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they trade characteristic skills: Naoe reveals a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-lethal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may finally explain some lingering questions from the main storyline.
Previous Anime Crossovers
This represents not the initial time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with famous anime series. The series formerly included a 2020 collaborative story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Additionally, Valhalla informally contained a quest that unmistakably nodded to the famous series One-Punch Man.
